Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our stakeholder management system is compliant with NSW Government’s information security requirements. The data is stored in NSW for 5 years and users manage data under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998. We will not disclose your personal information to anybody else unless you have given your consent or we are required to do so by law. Why are we collecting your information?

We are collecting your information to:
  • Identify and validate your water meters and eligibility for the NSW Telemetry Uplift Program 
  • Compare your submitted information with existing government records on your works approval 
  • Facilitate the installation and commissioning of telemetry devices at your property 
  • Provide your details to contractors to enable them to contact you and complete customer contracts and land access deeds for installation 
Who will receive your information?

We may share your information with:

  • Contractors engaged in installing telemetry devices and facilitating agreements with landholders 
  • Relevant NSW Government agencies involved in water metering, data management, and compliance 
  • Service providers managing telemetry data collection and processing on behalf of the Department 
We will not share your information with anyone else unless you provide consent, or we are required or authorised by law to do so.

Are you required by law to provide this information?

Providing your information is voluntary. However, if you choose not to provide your information, we may not be able to: •

  • Confirm your eligibility for the Telemetry Uplift Program 
  • Compare and verify your details against government-held records • Proceed with the installation of telemetry devices on your property 
  • Provide relevant contractors with the necessary details to complete land access agreements and installation

If you have more than one approval number that may be eligible, please complete this form once for each approval number.




To be eligible for this program you must be a landholder in the Murray–Darling Basin with an entitlement of 100ML or more.

Unfortunately, you are not eligible for the program. If you would like to discuss your eligibility, please email the project team at nswtelemetryupliftprogram@dpie.nsw.gov.au, including your name, phone number and works approval number(s), using the subject line ‘Eligibility enquiry – under 100ML entitlement’.

The Telemetry Uplift Program covers the supply and installation of telemetry devices where meters are already installed. The program does not include the supply or installation of meters.
